What is the Dividend Stock Pie?

First, let's clarify what an investment pie is.  Traditionally, stock investing requires choosing specific stocks or funds, then buying or selling them individually.  However, tracking, buying and selling stocks individually can be a real pain...Especially when trying to allocate or maintain a certain percentage of each in a stock portfolio.

The pie investing approach solves this by allowing the investor to choose any number of stocks or ETFs (each called a slice) and designate a certain percentage of each in a portfolio (called a pie).  Want to invest 50% in an SP500 index fund, 25% in Amazon (AMZN) and 25% in Starbucks (SBUX)? No problem. This can be done using the pie investing approach.  As the market changes or the portfolio grows the investor can rebalance the pie, readjust the percentages,  and can add or remove stock slices.

Why did I choose the pie approach? I wanted to designate a portion of MY portfolio to Dividend-Paying Stocks that I could contribute to regularly as a whole instead of each dividend stock indvidually.  The "investment pie" approach seemed like a great solution for me!

So I created the Dividend Stock Pie

The Dividend Stock Pie includes 11 stocks that I believe have both the opportunity to maintain or raise their dividend and have an opportunity for growth.  Each stock represents about 9% of the Dividend Stock Pie.
