Over the last 20 years, I've helped numerous companies develop comprehensive patent and trademark portfolios. I've enjoyed watching my clients launch companies based on medical device, life science, mechanical and electrical patents that I've secured.  We've obtained over 250 patents. I've also helped with licensing patents and assisted with the acquisition of my clients.

But my practice isn't limited to patents.  For over 10 years I've been securing trademark protection for brands and have represented brand owners in trademark disputes.

Step 1
Strategy Session

 

In our initial meeting we will discuss what the trademark is, how it is currently being used, and any plans for the future. From here, we will generate a document summarizing the legal rights to be asserted. It includes:

  • Description of the Mark 
  • Listing of the goods and services associated with the mark according to the International Classification System.

Step 2
Trademark Search

 

Our Trademark search will form the basis of our opinion as to the likelihood of obtaining a federal trademark registration and whether someone else already has rights to the mark. The Trademark Search includes: 

  • Analysis of the Distinctiveness of the Trademark
  • Trademark Search of US Federal Trademark Registrations and Applications
  • Trademark Search of Common Law Trademarks
  •  Recommendation
